World Cup fever has reached Dogs Trust Evesham

Dogs Trust Evesham is getting behind the nation’s World Cup football team by naming a litter of Lurcher puppies after star players in the England squad.

Leading the line-up are Harry Canine, Jamie dig-up-the-Yardy, Jack Russell Butland, Kyle Walkies, John Bones, Eric Dierhound and Nick Pup.

All seven puppies are hoping they can be the perfect match for a loving new owner who can continue their training and provide plenty of adoration.

They may not have the fancy footwork to rival their namesakes, but the playful pups can’t resist running after a ball.

The litter was born after their mum Rosie, was handed into the rehoming centre pregnant, after being picked up as a stray. A foster family through the charity’s Home From Home scheme cared for the puppies in their first few weeks of life, where they received round the clock care.

Sarah Galvin, Home From Home coordinator at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: “These mischievous little pups are full of energy so will need loving owners who are happy to be kept on their toes. They are only eight weeks old and as they aren’t as experienced as the professionals they would benefit from a little extra training.

“The team requires active homes with owners who appreciate the demands of energetic young puppies and are at home most of the day to help them settle in. They would need homes with secure garden to bound around in and would of course love a football to play with. The pups will be required to attend Dog School training classes to help them become polite, well-socialised adult dogs. They are super little dogs who would make the perfect four-legged companions in the right homes.”

If you think you’re the perfect match for one of these lovely pups, please contact [email protected] or call 0300 303 0292.
