Webbox reveals the UK’s top five dog-friendly beer gardens you should visit this summer

With the summer holidays approaching, petcare brand Webbox is sharing the UK’s top five dog-friendly beer gardens that won’t make a dog’s dinner out of your drinking and dining experiences this spring.

The Dog, Grundisburgh, Suffolk

First up is the aptly named ‘The Dog’, and of course, this South East pub is extremely pet-friendly. The premises has a beautiful, heated marquee and front forecourt, serving dining and drinks to its hungry guests. But don’t worry, dogs are still welcome inside!

Roebuck Inn, Cheshire

Flaunting its new ‘Garden Menu’, the Roebuck Inn has reopened with a spring in its step. This forward-thinking pub is happy to welcome pet-sized punters to its terraces, and they even offer an elusive ‘dog beer’ at the bar for owners who are willing to go the extra mile for their furry friend.

The Cardinal’s Hat, Worcester

Any pet parent and their doting dog who visit The Cardinal’s Hat will be met with a warm welcome, as well as free pet treats at the bar, an ample supply of filled water bowls, and plenty of places for furry friends to cosy up in. This pub, and it’s inviting covered beer garden, is Worcester’s oldest inn, dating back to the fourteenth century. So why not soak up some history alongside your hops?

If Al Fresco dining isn’t for you

It’s wise to set our sights on venues that will accept our furry friends both indoors and out. While many of the above eateries are happy for pets to enjoy their indoor venues, you may want to bookmark a venue that can offer that little bit extra.

The iconic dog-friendly chain, Brewdog, has bars up and down the country, including in Birmingham, London, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, and Sheffield.

Lisa Melvin, pet expert at Webbox, says: ‘We’d love to encourage folks to bring their furry friends out with them on trips to the pub as we know that they are an important part of the family.’

‘Although lots of establishments are dog friendly, it’s essential to keep your pup well-behaved. We recommend bringing along some tasty treats, such as Webbox’s Chicken Chips or Dog-e-Lix, so you can settle and soothe your pup if they get overexcited or anxious about the crowds.

‘Greasy pub grub can cause havoc on your pet’s tummies, so it’s always worth bringing your own treats rather than filling your pooch’s bowl with pork scratchings and crisps.’
