The RSPCA is hoping to find an ‘extra special’ home for a trio of devoted cats who have come into the charity’s care following the sad death of their beloved owner.
Atlas, Taurus and Midnight arrived at Great Ayton Animal Centre in November and were understandably bewildered and scared at first after suddenly finding themselves in rescue.
But thanks to weeks of dedicated care by the cattery’s staff, all three have gained confidence and are now starting to enjoy life once again.
The rehoming centre say the three companions are inseparable and always stay close to one another, which is why it’s so important they find a loving new home together when they can continue to provide companionship and comfort for each other.
Three year old male silver tabbies Taurus and Atlas enjoy pottering around the cattery and playing. Their female friend Midnight, also three, who initially spent a lot of time hiding away, is also beginning to show her loving and affectionate side. All three are particularly fond of a tasty cat treat or two.
Cattery Supervisor Beverley Dunn, said: “It’s been an incredibly confusing time for them, suddenly having to leave a home where they were loved and cherished pets.
“We know that taking on one cat, let alone three, is a big responsibility, but Atlas, Taurus and Midnight are totally devoted to one another.
“Unfortunately the enquiries so far have been from people who have wanted to adopt Taurus and Atlas together but not Midnight.
“They’ve forged such a close bond that we really can’t split this little group of friends up, especially after everything they have been through. They’ve gained a lot of confidence since they arrived and we know they will continue to thrive in a home environment with patient and understanding owners.
“We know the right home is out there for them somewhere and we’d urge people who are considering adoption and are in a position to offer three devoted cats a fresh start, to get in touch.”
Taurus, Atlas and Midnight will need to be the only pets in the household and will require outdoor access so they can potter around in a garden, although they have previously spent the majority of their time indoors. All three have been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated and are in good health.
They can live with primary aged children who will be respectful and let the cats settle at their own pace. Please visit the centre’s website to fill in an application form or email [email protected] or call 0300 123 0743.
