Canine Cottages have launched a nationwide competition to lookalike owners and their dogs.
You may have heard that dog owners often choose a four-legged friend that shares a similar look or personality to them – but is this theory true?
If you’ve ever been told that you or a family member look like your furry friend, you may want to enter the new competition – ‘DOGpelganger’, that’s been launched to find the ultimate dog-owner lookalikes.
Canine Cottages, experts in dog-friendly accommodation are asking dog owners to submit their favourite photos of them and their canine companions via social media for the chance to win an exclusive £500 Canine Cottages voucher to put towards their next holiday.
Entries will be assessed by an expert panel of dog-loving judges to collate a shortlist of the top 50. Users can then vote for their favourite submissions to help decide which dog-owner couple is most deserving of the title of the nation’s ultimate ‘DOGpleganger’.
Jo Caley from Canine Cottages comments: “In a report featured by the BBC, research shows people are more likely to choose a dog that shares similar physical attributes to them.
“Here at Canine Cottages, we like to challenge and want to see whether there’s any truth behind this theory – and also fill our feeds with cute dogs in the process. We encourage anyone who feels they look like their dog to enter, whether the dog you look like belongs to a family or friend (users must have dogs owner’s permission to enter).”
Candidates can apply via Facebook for the chance to be featured in the top 50-owner pairings and win the converted title of ultimate DOGpelganger duo.
The winning entry will also win a pawsome dog-friendly getaway from holiday home rental company Canine Cottages. The competition is now open and closes on 18th September 2019 at 11:59pm.
