cottages.com has revealed it has helped more than 365,000 dogs across the UK enjoy a holiday with their human companions in the last year.
The figure has been released alongside the launch of the cottage holiday company’s brand new ‘More Than Pet Friendly Collection’, a finely tuned selection of hand-picked properties that go above and beyond to ensure dogs feel perfectly at home, taking on board canine customer feedback.
Hundreds of property owners have already signed up to the collection to meet the growing market for holidays with pets in the party.
Each promise to offer a complete holiday experience for four-legged guests including recommendations for local walking highlights and pet-friendly pubs and attractions, as well as home comforts for easy travelling.
Pooches stay for free at properties in the ‘More Than Pet Friendly Collection’ and will receive a warm welcome into the home-from-home with a specially designed doggy welcome pack to keep tails wagging.
A fully enclosed garden will also provide peace of mind when exercising and playing in the property’s outdoor space.
At-home essentials that guests can expect to find around a ‘More Than Pet Friendly’ property include doggie treats and toys, separate towels, poo bags and water bowls.
Some property owners are even creating special dog tags detailing the property address to help keep hounds on holiday safe during their travels.
Simon Altham, Managing Director – Revenue at cottages.com, said: “Pets are essential members of the family in a lot of households, and that sentiment doesn’t change on holiday. The market has evolved and rather than chose to book pets in to a kennel, we’re finding holidaymakers are looking for accommodation that will not only accept but wholeheartedly welcome their dog too.
“Hundreds of thousands of tails have wagged in our holiday properties in the past year, and it is our absolute pleasure to help make the booking process that bit easier for pet owners in 2019 with the launch of our dedicated ‘More Than Pet Friendly Collection’.”
