Little dog hopes 2020 will be his year after two years in kennels

A little dog in RSPCA care has big dreams for 2020 and is hoping the New Year will bring him a new home.

Four-year old Shih Tzu Tommy has now been in RSPCA care for a total of two years and two months, after spending a year with Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home in 2016 before being rehomed.

Sadly, he arrived back at the centre in September 2018 and has now been paw-tiently waiting for the right home for over a year.

Ebony Poole said: “Poor little Tommy finds it very difficult to trust new people, so he needs someone with a lot of time and patience to work with him on this. When he came to us he’d had no socialisation with other dogs so he needs a new home where he’ll be the only pet.

“He’s a quirky little chap and can sometimes have ‘small dog syndrome’ but he’s a wonderful dog with a huge personality and bags of character.”

Tommy is looking for a quiet home with an experienced dog owner who can give him the love and companionship he deserves. He needs to go to an adult-only household. He’s fully house trained and is happy being left alone for short periods of time.

Ebony added: “Once Tommy gets to know you, he has so much love to give and is desperate to please you. He’s becoming more and more confident every day. He’ll make a wonderful companion for the right person. We really hope 2020 is Tommy’s year – he really deserves it.”
