Is your furry, feathered, or scaly friend the world’s happiest pet?

With pet TikTok videos receiving over 10 billion views in 2023 alone, the amount of people who enjoy watching happy or smiling pets is abundant. But which pet is the happiest? To answer this question, TrustedHousesitters launched a global competition to find the Happiest Pet on Earth, celebrating the joy all types of animal companions bring to our lives.

As the contest heats up with heartwarming entries from around the globe, Britain’s diverse range of pets is making its mark with tales of resilience, love, and pure happiness. From dogs and cats to birds and reptiles, these British contenders prove that joy comes in all shapes, sizes, and species!

Meet some of Britain’s happiest pets in the running for the world title:

Winnie

This ex-breeding dog is living her best life after being adopted just four months ago. Winnie’s affectionate nature and newfound happiness have transformed her into a joyful pup, proving you can teach an old dog new tricks, or ways of life.

Snarky

From Dubai to England and now settled in Scotland, this worldly parrot has fully embraced his Scottish roots (with a little help from his bird parents). Snarky’s love for everyone he meets and his enthusiasm for a good head scratch, make him one very happy bird.

Saxa

This ball of energy is the epitome of feline joy with a smile to match. Always up for a cuddle or a game of hide-and-seek, Saxa’s playful spirit and boundless affection make her a constant source of happiness.

Dante

This feathered friend finds bliss in the simple things – like turning toys into confetti after a refreshing shower. Always ready to join the conversation, Dante’s unique brand of love makes him a cherished part of the family.

Roo

From a rough start in a Romanian shelter to living her best life by the beach, Roo’s journey is nothing short of inspirational. This small dog with a big heart cherishes every moment with her furry siblings and can’t believe her luck in finding her furever home.

Freddie

This bearded dragon’s winning smile says it all. Despite a challenging start in life, Freddie now basks in the joy of sunbathing and cuddling with his feline brother, Charlie. His zest for life is infectious, spreading happiness to all who meet him.

Angela Laws, Head of Community at TrustedHousesitters, comments on the competition so far:

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the heartwarming entries from across the UK. Each pet’s story reminds us of the incredible joy animals bring to our lives, whether they’re furry, feathered, or scaly. This competition is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that special bond and potentially win some fantastic prizes. We’re excited to see if a British pet will take the global crown, but one thing’s for sure – the UK entries are giving the world a run for its money in the happiness stakes!”
