And beloved pets won’t just leave The Groom Room feeling and smelling festive, they’ll also receive a complimentary Christmas bow tie as part of their groom.

Festive spa treatments are available until 31st December, at £10 extra per dog with any grooming service. £1 from every booking will be donated to the Pets at Home Foundation Santa Paws appeal, supporting charities who work alongside pets and the people who love them.

The Groom Room’s friendly team of qualified groomers will always make sure your dog is looking and feeling their best.

Karlien Heyrman, Head of Pets at Pets at Home, said: “We all want our dogs to be part of the festive fun and they deserve a Christmas pamper as much as we do, but it’s important to remember that for dogs a Winter groom is about more than just looking good. As the weather gets colder and wetter, things like mud, ice crystals or grit can all impact your dog, and a Winter groom will help to keep them happy, and most importantly healthy, in the Winter months.”

A Winter groom helps to:

  • Keep pups’ paws neat and trim – to ensure their nails and fur around them are clipped to help prevent big clumps of ice crystals or grit build-up getting trapped in the hair and causing irritation
  • Prevent matting – this can occur more frequently during seasonal shedding periods, such as when the coat changes from summer to winter. In cold winter weather many dogs develop a thicker, fuller coat which also mats more easily.
  • Protect your dog’s coat and skin – wet weather means more mud, which despite your best efforts can impact your dog’s coat and skin if not cleaned off properly
  • Clean and trim the ears – which can help prevent infections
  • Spot any problems with the skin or coat – such as wounds, rashes, hot spots or any nasty parasites
  • Prevent fleas – thanks to central heating, fleas can be a problem all year round. A groom at The Groom Room always includes checking for fleas.

Slots for grooms fill fast, particularly over Christmas. To make an appointment, pop into your local salon or book online at www.petsathome.com/groomroom.
