Felix was bald, covered in scabs, underweight and living in poor conditions when she was rescued by the RSPCA from a multi-cat household.
She came into the care of the RSPCA Warrington, Halton and St Helen’s branch four months ago after being rescued by an RSPCA inspector.
Sadly, the five year old black and white cat was suffering from an awful skin condition and flea allergic dermatitis from a lack of flea treatment.
She was furless, covered in scabs and very itchy. Felix was also malnourished and in need of some TLC.
Susanne Fearnley from the RSPCA branch said: “Poor Felix has had a difficult start in life after living in a multi-cat household and sadly being neglected. She was in need of lots of TLC and thankfully is now back to full health and is ready to find her forever home. On arrival to the cattery she was very nervous and shy but has come on leaps and bounds and has now come out of her shell so much that she is a bit of a Princess! She definitely has some ‘cattitude’ and will let you know when she’s had enough fuss, as she likes attention on her own terms.”
Felix will need her new owners to appreciate that she may need a more hands-off approach and doesn’t like too much fuss or to be picked up. However, when she is in a cuddly mood she will happily sit on your lap and take a quick cat nap. She also loves to play which is her favourite way to interact with her carers at the branch.
Susanne added: “Felix has been waiting to find her forever home for a while now and we have had no interest in her whatsoever. We really have no idea why that is. It’s so sad as she is such a lovely cat and just deserves her second chance at happiness.”
Felix would prefer to be the only cat in her new home, and would like to be rehomed to an adult-only household. She couldn’t live with a dog and she will need access to the outdoors so that she can explore.
