Staff at Dogs Trust Shrewsbury are hoping they will come up smelling of roses in their search for a volunteer to help them look after the site.
The Telford-based rehoming centre is in desperate need of a volunteer gardener and grounds assistant to help look after the outdoor areas of the site, taking on everything from planting to weeding.
Dogs Trust Volunteer Co-ordinator, Helen Downing, says: “We have a Maintenance Officer who looks after the entire site which is a huge job so he’s as busy as a bee all year round! Now we’re looking for someone to work alongside him regularly.
“As well as keeping the site tidy, the role will involve other tasks such as keeping our Dogs Trust vehicles spick and span because of course dog hair and mud accompany our dogs wherever they go!
“It is really important to us that the centre is a lovely, welcoming place for people to visit, whether they are dropping off donations or coming to chat about a dog they would like to adopt, and this role will really help us achieve that.”
If you are a lover of the outdoors, are available during the week and want to do your bit to help rescue dogs, please call Helen on 01952 771416 or e-mail [email protected].
