A dedicated team from Dogs Trust Merseyside is preparing for an exciting fundraising event at Aintree Racecourse this weekend to support dogs in need.
Team members Clare Rooney (50), Avril Clark (25), Chloe Rose (22), and Eric Grainger (28) will be participating in the Liverpool Fun Inflatable 5k Obstacle Course to raise vital funds for Dogs Trust.
The challenging course features 32 gigantic obstacles and five music zones to keep participants motivated. The event, taking place on Saturday (June 8), promises to be an exciting and bouncy experience.
Clare, who has previously tackled similar challenges, shared her enthusiasm for the fundraising challenge:
“We were looking for a fundraising challenge and this seemed like an opportunity not to miss.
“I’ve done something similar many years ago and although it looks like fun, it’s tougher than you might think. We’re confident we’ll finish the full course, but in what state remains to be seen!
“The dogs we care for are loved by us until we can find their forever homes, and knowing we’ll be raising much needed funds for them will definitely spur us on and we really appreciate everybody’s support. Every week we receive so many calls from people needing to give up their dog. However long a dog is with us we will go the extra mile for them and we decided to do exactly that by taking part in this challenge.”
The team is also dedicating their run to a special dog: Angel, an eight-year-old American Bulldog, who has been in the care of Dogs Trust Merseyside for 800 days. Although initially shy around new people, Angel has become a cherished resident at the centre, showing great affection once she gets to know you. The funds raised by the Dogs Trust Merseyside team will help provide ongoing support for dogs likeAngel.
