Dogs, mud, ball pits, and more – are you ready for Muddy Dog Challenge?

Don’t be a stick in the mud and get out of your comfort zone this year by taking on the Muddy Dog Challenge – an outdoor obstacle course you can tackle with your dog by your side whilst raising money for Battersea.

This is the seventh year that Battersea are running their Muddy Dog Challenge which is now taking place in nine locations across the country, including: The New Forest, Tunbridge Wells, Stansted, Manchester, Cheltenham, Windsor, Leeds, Derby and Exeter.

So, what does the Muddy Dog Challenge have in store for you and your dog?

Participants can choose from a distance of 2.5km and 5km – both courses are equally fun and muddy. You’ll be faced with a variety of wacky obstacles, including the Bubble Tunnel, the Doggy Day Spa (ironically the only spa you’ll come out of less clean), and not to forget the opportunity to unleash your inner child as you conquer the Ball Pit Bath and Tunnels.

All are welcome to take part – you can run or walk the course with or without a dog, bring the kids along, go as part of a team, or take it on solo.

What do you need to do?

The best part? No intensive marathon training – as long as you’re a reasonable level of fitness you won’t need to spend any time training as the Muddy Dog Challenge is all about having fun!

Each participant is encouraged to raise a target of £100 for Battersea so they can continue helping dogs and cats everywhere. For ideas and inspiration, you can look on the Battersea website for fundraising tips.

Once you’ve registered, you will receive your very own Muddy Dog Challenge t-shirt and dog bandana to take part in, as well as the coveted medal and rosette after making it across the finish line.

Emma Lovesey, Senior Challenge Events Manager at Battersea, commented: “We’re really excited to be back again for Battersea’s Muddy Dog Challenge 2022 and we can’t wait to see animal lovers across the UK tackle our obstacle course.

“Battersea continues to go above and beyond for every dog and cat – caring for animals in our centres and supporting other rescue and rehoming organisations across the UK and beyond to help more animals. Every penny raised by our wonderful supporters will help us continue our mission to be there for every dog and cat who needs us.”
