Burgess Pet Care is thrilled to announce that six greyhound and lurcher rescue centres across the UK have won the highest number of nominations and will receive a share of £20,000 worth of Burgess Greyhound and Lurcher dry dog food, as part of a national campaign run by the independent food manufacturer earlier this year.
Following the success of its annual Greyhound & Lurcher Two-week Takeover campaign, which ran on Burgess’ social media channels, Burgess has now delivered a total of 10 tonnes of Supadog Greyhound and Lurcher food across the UK. The six winning rescue centres, which have each received over 100 12.5kg bags of food, are: –
1. Makants Greyhound Rescue North West, Manchester
2. Greyhound Gap, Stoke-on-Trent
3. Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue, Evesham, Worcestershire
4. Forever Hounds Trust, Cullompton, Devon
5. Hector’s Greyhound Rescue, Shropshire & Aberystwyth
6. Lurcher SOS Sighthound Rescue, Surrey
Burgess’ latest digital campaign reached thousands of people and included a two-week takeover of its social media channels to share information about greyhound and lurchers and what makes them wonderful pets. The campaign also highlighted some of the fantastic work being carried out by UK greyhound and lurcher rescue centres, including animals in need of homes and adoption success stories.
Erin McNair, brand manager at Burgess Pet Care, said: “Our Greyhound & Lurcher Two-Week Takeover campaign is now in its fifth year and we’re proud to be supporting some amazing rescue centres with our largest food donation yet. We know from speaking to the rescue centre managers how important our campaign is, as it means they can focus on other areas of running a rescue without having to worry about the cost of food for a couple of months.
“For several years Burgess has donated 20 pence from every purchased pack of Supadog Greyhound & Lurcher, which goes straight back into food donations for rescue centres. We’re delighted to continue with this support throughout this year and beyond.”
