Bridgerton puppies seeking homes hope to be talk of the ton

A litter of adorable Bridgerton-inspired puppies are hoping they’ll be talk of the ton so they can find the match of the season.

The six spaniel-cross puppies were taken in by the RSPCA earlier this month (June) when they were removed from a property by police on welfare grounds.

Staff at the centre are big fans of the hit Netflix series Bridgerton – so were excited to name the puppies after some of their favourite characters.

The male pups are called Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Gregory – named after the Bridgerton boys – and Reynolds, the Queen’s right-hand man. The one female is named Penelope, after the wonderful Lady Penelope Featherington who is (SPOILER ALERT) Lady Whistledown herself.

The nine-week-old pups are at Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, in Gloucestershire, where staff have been giving them lots of TLC. They’re now ready for a fresh start in new homes of their own.

Sam Herniman works at the rescue centre and said: “Just as the Bridgerton kids are all setting off on exciting new adventures with their new husbands and wives, our Bridgerton pups are ready for the next chapter of their own love stories – with their new families.

“Each puppy has their own unique personality, just like the characters they’re named after, and they’ll bring such joy and fun to their new homes.

“They’re all confident, friendly and outgoing dogs who we’re absolutely smitten with. We’re not entirely sure what their breeding is although it’s clear there is some spaniel in there, but we believe they could be quite small when they’re fully grown.

Puppies are a huge commitment and we’re looking for families who can commit to their long-term learning and development, where they’ll get the love, care and training they need to grow into happy, confident dogs. They could live with other animals and with children.”

The pups will need to return to the centre on 4 July for their second vaccinations. They’re not currently neutered so will also need to be brought back to Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home for that when they’re old enough.
