The Midlands’ oldest and most-loved animal welfare charity, Birmingham Dogs Home, has announced pet accessories manufacturer and supplier, Ancol, as its first-ever rehoming programme sponsor.
As an official sponsor, Ancol will support the charity with its mission of helping thousands of dogs find their forever homes throughout the year, which comes at a critical time for the charity as its two rescue centres are at full capacity.
In addition to providing financial support, especially needed with the predicted increase in heating bills this winter, Ancol will be gifting special ‘gotcha’ bandanas to every rescue dog that is adopted from the charity until September 2024, making the start of the next chapter with their new families extra special.
The Walsall-based family-run business has also supported the charity several times in the past, with the supplier sponsoring the charity’s annual Family Fun Day event in Solihull and a kennel at the charity’s Wolverhampton centre.
What’s more, Ancol has recently become one of the charity’s inaugural platinum business patrons. Being part of Birmingham Dogs Home’s Business Patrons Club comes with multiple perks for the businesses involved, ranging from advertising and sponsorship opportunities to team building and community engagement benefits.
Commenting on the new partnership, Head of Fundraising at Birmingham Dogs Home Fi Harrison said: “We are so grateful for Ancol’s continued support and renewed commitment to our charity.
“Birmingham Dogs Home rehomes around 2,000 local homeless dogs every year and this summer we are busier than ever, with both centres at full capacity and hundreds of dogs up for adoption. That’s why the additional support from Ancol for our rehoming programme is very important.
“We launched our BDH Business Patrons Club in May this year and we like to give as much back to our patrons as we can, which is why we will be celebrating and recognising Ancol’s ongoing support over the duration of our sponsorship.”
Adam Marsden, Head of Sales and Marketing at Ancol, added: “We like to do our bit for the animal welfare charities and are proud to be working with Birmingham Dogs Home as one of their business platinum patrons and now the sponsor of their rehoming programme. We hope to help the many local dogs in their care find new homes throughout the year.”
