Big Friendly Giant dreams of finding new family after 92 days at animal shelter

The RSPCA is appealing to find a special home for three-year-old Rocco who has been looking to find his forever home for over three months.

The Presa Canaria came into the care of the RSPCA Warrington, Halton and St Helens Animal Centre as sadly his previous owners had a change in circumstances which meant they could no longer care for him.

Rocco is a big dog with a big heart and he has been affectionately nicknamed the BFG by the staff at the branch. Now Rocco dreams of finding a phizz-whizzing human bean to call his own.

Rehoming coordinator, Susanne Fearnley, said: “Poor Rocco came into our care through no fault of his own but has now waited over 90 days to find his new family. He absolutely loves people and always aims to please which is why we call him the Big Friendly Giant.

“He’s a good listener and enjoys playing with toys and games and as he’s still young, he would benefit from future training and agility.

“He will need his new family to be around for part of the day as he enjoys company and he will need a home with a large garden big enough for him to run and play in, possibly in a more rural setting. He has had some interest from potential adopters but unfortunately they haven’t been quite right for the kind of home he needs. We want the best for our gentle giant and would love nothing more than to see him with his new family before Christmas.”
