Bath Cats & Dogs Home will open its Claverton Down-based rescue centre gates to visitors for the return of their annual fun day in August.
Fun-legged fun will be the order of the day at the event taking place on Bank Holiday Monday 27 August where people will be able to enjoy a host of displays, games, stalls and tasty food.
Getting tails wagging this year will be the day’s always much anticipated fun dog show, with categories including Best Rescue, Fabulous Fella, Loveliest Lady, Cutest Puppy, Golden Oldie and Best in Show.
In the demonstration area visitors will be treated to a fast paced agility demonstration from Saxon Agility Club with Vee Richardson and her talented dogs wowing with their heelwork.
Bath Cats and Dogs Home’s very own resident’s will also be wooing the crowds and hoping to attract the eye of someone wanting to give them a forever home. Visitor’s dogs will also be able to have their five minutes of fame by taking part in the have-a-go-agility.
Simon Lyn, Head of Animal Operations, said: “It was fantastic to see so many of our rehomed rescue dogs return with their owners last year and of course to make lots of new doggie friends. You get a real sense that all those attending the event, whatever their age, love animals as much as we do, and we can’t thank everyone enough for supporting us and helping to raise lots of money for the animals in our care.”
Included in this year’s event, which is sponsored by Crest Nicholson, will also be a kids zone with a bouncy castle, face painting and arts & crafts, as well as delicious food stalls.
Last year the annual fun day raised a massive £26,000, which goes toward helping the home to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome over 1,400 animals from the local area each year.
Entrance tickets for adults costs £450, children £2.50, (free for under 4s) and family tickets, £12. For more information in the event, you can visit www.bcdh.org.uk/funday
