Nothing says Christmas is coming quite like a festive jumper – and if you can include your furry friend in the fun, it makes it even more special.

Dr Karlien Heyrman, Head of Pets at Pets at Home, said: “Your dog is a firm part of the family, and if you’re all donning Christmas jumpers, they can be too – but just like humans, it’s important to make sure your dog is comfortable wearing their festive jumper.
“Restrictive jumpers or costumes can limit a dog’s vision or range of motion so only let them wear the jumper or accessory for short periods of time in the run up to the big day, and if your dog seems unhappy at any time, you should remove it immediately.
“You will be able to tell if your dog’s jumper is causing them anxiety by their body language, if they’re stiff, move around less than normal or chew at the jumper, it’s a sign they aren’t happy.”
Karlien adds: “Like you would with human clothes, getting the right size is vital to making sure you dog is comfortable in their jumper.
“You can measure your dog from the base of their neck to the base of their tail, and check against the size guide on the Pets at Home website to work out which size is perfect for your pet.”
